Hemel Hempstead MP visits Fitter Future user school
On Friday 17th May 2019, Fitter Future invited the MP for Hemel Hempstead, Sir Mike Penning to Galley Hill Primary School to show how regular bursts of vigorous physical activity in the classroom has made a positive impact on pupils.
Sir Mike was keen to see how the teachers use the resource alongside their learning and hear what improvements they have noticed in children as a result of classroom-based physical activity.
“The biggest thing I have enjoyed seeing here today is young people enjoying themselves doing physical activity… I was hearing children asking today, when can we do this again?”
Boosts Brain Development
We believe that the benefits of regular physical activity go much further than health. Physical activity and exercise positively influence wellbeing, boosts brain development, increases attention and focus in classroom and most importantly, teaches children from a young age the importance of living a healthy and active lifestyle. Sir Mike agreed on the importance of introducing exercise at an early age and urged that other schools should get involved with initiatives that increase children’s physical activity levels throughout the day.
“I’d like to say to all schools around the country that if we can get kids active, a lot of the problems they may have in future life can be alleviated. Get them active, get them involved and if you’re not involved now, please do now!”
More Active More Often
Here at Fitter Future, our mission is to get more children to be more active, more often. We want children to love being active and do so in a way that is easy for teachers to implement into the school day. Our 5-10-minute online workouts can be completed in the classroom and at home.
You can get going with just a few clicks and help get children at your school more active, more often!
