Emotional Intelligence – Coming Soon

When schools start to re open their doors to more pupils it is inevitable that the greatest challenge will not be centred around academic progress. Sure, catching children up on their Maths work, reading levels etc are important but the largest obstacle to overcome will be centred around how children are able to manage in this new normal. How will they feel being back in 'the outside'. How will they cope with socialising, communicating, focusing in a structured environment. What about coping with bereavement, or being friends with children who have suffered. How will children be able to continue to develop and operate in a 'new normal.'

How will they feel being back in ‘the outside’. How will they cope with socialising, communicating, focusing in a structured environment. What about coping with bereavement, or being friends with children who have suffered. How will children be able to continue to develop and operate in a ‘new normal.’

Over the last 6 months Fitter Future have teamed up with some incredible and inspirational leaders to develop two incredible Emotional Intelligence programmes. One for children, and one for schools.

Whilst we are not ready to release the programme, so much of the content is directly relevant for the issues facing children today and we will therefore make available some of the relevant content. If as a parent or teacher you would like to help support your child in any of the areas mentioned above please sign up, for free, to Fitter Future by clicking here

About our Emotional Intelligence (Child Programme)

The programme will give children the tools to increase their emotional intelligence and develop as humans.

The programme consists of a series of online activities that can be completed in school and at home. Activities are split for KS1 / KS2 children and each one lasts for between 5 – 10 minutes with plenty of learning that can be taken from the activities and placed into sessions (either PHSE in the existing curriculum or an entirely new learning time). There will be four modules of learning: Awareness & Empathy, Management, Confidence and Motivation.

It is Emotional Intelligence that separates humans from machines. Those with high emotional intelligence are able to communicate better, empathise and understand the emotions and needs of others and ultimately understand their own capabilities and potential a lot better.

Learning EQ at primary school will have the following benefits for children:

  1. Development of life skills e.g. empathy & self-awareness that can be built on in the future
  2. Decrease bullying which is a common trigger for mental health in under 16’s
  3. Encourage a positive mindset with ‘personal growth’ valued by children

Teaching EQ at primary school will have the following benefits for schools:

  1. Development of a more whole rounded child
  2. Happier, more positive environment
  3. Understanding that EQ will be more powerful than IQ in future generations (if not already)

About our Emotional Intelligence (School Programme)
The school programme will be delivered at three levels, executive leaders (Heads, Governors etc), the SLT and the teachers.
The course will compromise of a 1 day full INSET and then half termly virtual catch ups. Monthly development work will also be delivered.

The course is delivered by a team of inspirational leaders who are experts in the field of Emotional Intelligence and work already with a wide range of schools and public sector organisations.
